Alhagie K Saho, councillor for Pakau ward in Upper Niumi District, has condemned the detention of Citizens’ Alliance spokesman Neneh Gomez and called for her immediate release.

Neneh Freda Gomez and Modou Sey are rearessted and detained after the High Court in Banjul ruled in their favour over a property in Bijilo occupied by Police Anti-crime Unit.

Scores of Gambians including activists have taken to social media to call for her release. 

“I am condemning the arrest of Hon Neneh Freda Gomez of Citizens’ Alliance, I’m calling on the IGP to release Neneh immediately without any conditions,” Saho said.

“We need justice in the Gambia,” he added.
