Ebrima Dibba, deputy national organising secretary for the United Democratic Party (UDP), was arrested last night at the Banjul international airport shortly after arriving on a flight from the United States of America.

A source told Gambiana, the firebrand politician spent the night at the Yundum Police station, while adding that he is yet to be charged.

Mr Dibba is one of the staunch critics of President Barrow and his government since Lawyer Darboe was sacked from his role as vice president. Dibba was at the time employed at the Gambian embassy in Saudi Arabia.

Police couldn’t be reached for comment.
