A terrifying video has emerged on social media showing a ferry stuck in waters metres to the Barra landing terminal.

Onboard passengers could be seen scrambling for safety in panic mood as they are carried to the shore by beach boys and labourers. 

The teriffying scene has been strongly condemned among Gambians on social media, who now called for the sacking of the ferry service top brass for risking the lives of people in failing to do their job as expected.

The ferry service is yet to issue a statement about the unfortunate incident.

This comes amid poor service from The Gambia Ferry Service which operates old engined ferries that endanger the lives of passengers and commuters.
