Police in Wellingara have arrested a 19-year-old woman in connection with the ongoing investigation into the death of Kebba Sarr, a truck driver who was found dead in an apartment in Nema earlier this week.

In an update issued on Thursday, the Gambia Police Force confirmed that the suspect, identified as Isatou Kanteh of Wellingara, is currently in police custody and assisting investigators.

Sarr’s body was discovered during the early hours of Monday, June 15, prompting an investigation by law enforcement authorities.

Police said investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are still ongoing and have not yet disclosed further details about the cause of death.
“The suspect is currently in police custody and assisting investigators with inquiries related to the case,” the statement said.

The arrest marks the first major development in the case, which has generated significant public interest and discussion on social media since news of Sarr’s death emerged.

The Gambia Police Force said it remains committed to conducting a swift investigation and will continue to update the public on any significant developments.
