The leaders of 3 Years Jotna were arrested on Sunday for their actions in a violent protest at Sting Corner.

Abdou Njie, chairman of the anti-Barrow political group and other senior leaders have been taken into police custody.

Mr Njie was arrested at the main gate of Kanifing General Hospital where many of the injured protesters were taken for medical care.

He was taken at first to the Police Intervention Unit in Kanifing before he has later transferred to Police Headquarters in Banjul.

The political pressure group Operation Three Years Jotna is demanding that President Adama Barrow step down and honour his election promise of serving three years.

The group has said it will march to State House to force him out if the president fails to heed their January 20 ultimatum of stepping down.
