Gambia police say they have arrested the murder suspect in last year fatal shooting in Gunjur during communal clashes between residents of Gunjur and Berending. 

Buba Drammeh was taken into custody today by officers of the Police Anti-Crime Unit. 

The suspect who went on the run last year was accused of killing a Gunjur resident, Buba Jammeh during clashes between the two neighbouring villages. 

“The office of the IGP wishes to commend efforts of members of  the public for providing vital information leading to his arrest,” the police said in a statement.

“The public will be duly informed about the outcome of investigations and individuals with relevant information about the incident are encouraged to come forward to assist with investigations.”
