The Gambia Police Force has arrested six suspected scammers following an intelligence-led operation at Dalaba Estate in Old Yundum.

According to police, the operation was conducted on Monday, June 1, after the Lower West Coast Joint Security Taskforce received information about alleged fraudulent activities being carried out from a residence in the estate.

Security officers moved to the location and joined members of the Banjulinding Taskforce who were already at the scene.

A search of the premises resulted in the arrest of six Nigerian nationals aged between 19 and 26.

Police said several items believed to be linked to the suspected activities were recovered during the operation, including six laptops, 10 smartphones, a basic mobile phone, a printer, and four Nigerian passports.

The suspects have since been transferred to the Old Yundum Police Station, where they are assisting investigators with ongoing inquiries.

The police said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat cyber-enabled crimes and other forms of criminal activity across the country.
