Police say they arrested and detained three thieves during high court hearing of Bob Keita’s rape trial in Banjul yesterday.
“Three persons were arrested for stealing properties belonging to other individuals. They are currently helping the police in their investigations,” police said.
Police however urged victims of theft to report and follow up with the police as some properties have been recovered.
“We continue to reassure the public that the GPF shall ensure security is delivered to all with utmost professionalism and respect for human rights. The public are encouraged to continue supporting, collaborating and partnering with the police,” police added.
Meanwhile, the force thanked those who were at the Banjul High Court yesterday for the “decorum, civility and restraint exercised during proceedings of the Bubacarr Keita vs the State case yesterday”.
“We equally commend our gallant commanders and officers for ensuring a successful operation without any major incident,” police said, describing the cooperation shown between “our officers and the public yesterday was remarkable and worth commendations”.
