Police have begun prosecuting a group of teenage boys arrested for alleged dangerous driving—commonly known as drifting or joyriding—following an incident in the Kanifing area on Wednesday, June 11.

The suspects were held in police custody overnight and appeared before the Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning. The case has been adjourned to Monday, June 16 after a request from the boys’ legal representatives.

The court granted bail to the accused in the sum of D25,000 each, with one surety required per individual.

In a statement, the police reiterated their commitment to curbing reckless driving and maintaining road safety, promising to keep the public informed as the case unfolds.
