Police have deployed the elite Anti-Crime Unit at Banjul Ferry Terminal to help implement social distancing.

The unit’s head Gorgi Mboob was also spotted talking to his officers as they held a morning parade at the terminal.

Some personnel of the unit are also spotted along the Barra-Amdalai Highway controlling traffic and checking passengers.

Meanwhile the ferry’s seating capacity has been significantly reduced as part of social distancing measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 coronavirus.

A seat on the ferry that used to be occupied by four persons, now only occupy two individuals.

And passengers plying on the ferry are complying with the new measures.
