Police have launched an investigation into the mysterious deaths of a mother and daughter in Old Yundum.
The deceaseds have been identified as Majula Jabbie, aged 40, and her daughter Fatoumatta Ceesay, aged 14.
“Upon receiving a distress call, the Old Yundum CID Unit, along with the Criminal Records Office (CRO) and a team from the CID, was promptly dispatched to the scene. The bodies were discovered on their bed, and standard CSI protocols were observed before the bodies were moved to the EFSTH mortuary in Banjul.
“Evidence from the scene included a charcoal pot and a boiler with herbs and liquid, which the police collected for examination. The ongoing investigation will include postmortem examinations to determine the cause of death, and key family members are currently being questioned by the police,” police said.
