Police have launched an investigation into a reported security breach involving a private aircraft at Banjul International Airport.

The incident, which occurred on 8 July, involves a jet with the registration PR-OOF.

Officers say evidence suggests the aircraft may have been accessed without authorisation, with several items reported missing, including tools, beverages, and flight-related electronic equipment.

The Gambia Police Force’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit conducted a forensic examination of the aircraft and surrounding area.

CCTV footage has been reviewed, and statements were taken from the flight crew and other relevant individuals.

Preliminary findings revealed no signs of forced entry, though the pilot’s door was found open.

Investigators are now reviewing additional surveillance footage to establish the timeline and possible suspects.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing and have pledged to provide further updates as new information becomes available.
