Police have released updates on two high-profile cases currently before the courts — one involving cybercrime charges against 42 foreign nationals and another linked to a reckless drifting incident in Piccadilly.
At the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, five Chinese and 37 Nigerian nationals were charged with unlawful possession of devices and data, as well as computer-related fraud and forgery.
All pleaded not guilty and were granted bail of D300,000 each with two Gambian sureties. The case resumes on 11 September.
In a separate case, Baboucarr Sawo, also known as “Daddy,” was granted bail of D1.5 million after allegedly injuring an elderly vendor during a drifting incident.
His case has been adjourned to 17 September.
