Police have arrested two suspects over the assault of a Sierra Leonean national on Monday.
Dominic Mendy and Abdourahman Sey, both Gambians, were charged over the assault on Ousman Camara, a supporter of the president.
Mr Camara was invited to the police station, interviewed and taken to the Serrekunda General Hospital for medical examination where he was treated and discharged, police said.
“Further investigations into the matter revealed that Ousman Camara assaulted a lady in the name of Fatou Badjie which resulted to his attack by Dominic Mendy and Abdourahman Sey.
“Ousman Camara (James), Abdourahman Sey and Dominic Mendy are all charged accordingly and appropriate actions will follow.”
Meanwhile police said they have arrested , a taxi driver suspected of stealing sheep and goats around Tujereng.
“The Inspector General’s Office commends the public for timely sharing of the information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
“Together we can fight crime and therefore the cooperation and partnership of the public is highly solicited,” police said.
