The Gambia Police Force has commenced prosecution proceedings in an alleged sexual offence case involving a minor against Kemeseng Sanneh, widely known as Kexx, a prominent youth activist and member of the GALA organisation.
According to a police update, the matter was called before the Children’s Court on Wednesday, 7 May 2026.
During the proceedings, the prosecution filed a motion seeking a court order for DNA confirmation. The defence subsequently raised a preliminary objection before the court.
The case involving Kexx was adjourned to 4 June 2026 for the prosecution to respond to the preliminary objection raised by the defence.
Kexx was also arraigned before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on Monday alongside 13 other members of the GALA organisation on charges relating to alleged unlawful assembly and common nuisance following an incident at the Westfield Monument.
In its statement, the Gambia Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to due process, the rule of law, and the protection of vulnerable persons, particularly children.
