Police have revoked bail for Cherno Mbye and Kibily Dambelly amid ongoing investigation into the death of a child. 

Police revoked their bail a day after Sainabou Mbye, the baby’s aunt and ex-wife of Bob Keita, was handed over to the police by Interpol in Senegal. 

She is expected to appear in court on Monday.

“Police bail granted to Cherno Mbye and  Kibily Dambelly has been revoked as investigation intensified,” police spokesman Lamin Njie told Gambiana.

He added: “members of the public are strictly warn to desist from taking the law into their own hands or interfering into processes for any reason.

“Such instances will not be tolerated by no means, as the peace and tranquility of the country will never be compromised.”

The police spokesman urged the public to continue exercising restraint and desist from provoking situations of unrest.
