President Adama Barrow has announced a 10 billion dalasis [$200 million] electrification project for the country. 

The president promised to electrify the whole country before 2025.

President Barrow told a political rally in Essau, in the first leg of his Meet the People tour, “My office has some projects here and we will provide electricity to 10 communities. 

“But the promise I am going to offer you is that in the area of electricity before 2025 every home even a single home in the bush will be electrified. 

“Before 2025 whether you agree or not you will get electricity.” 

The president is accompanied by a huge crowd for the next 30 days touring the nation to explain his government’s projects and policies to the people. 

The tour is mandated by the country’s constitution and it offers the head of the state the opportunity to hear directly from the people on their needs and the issues affecting them. 

President Barrow proceeded after the Essau rally to Fass Njaga Choi before he ended his day with a meeting in Niumi Lamin. 

He is expected to hold his next rally tomorrow [Wednesday] in Kerr Ngor in Jokadu before crossing into the Baddibous.
