President Adama Barrow received a delegation of Senegalese health professionals who are in the country to help fight the coronavirus pandemic that has overwhelmed the health system.

The delegation was led by the Senegalese Director of Health Emergency Operations, Dr Abdoulaye Busso.

State House says the delegation is in the country to share experiences with their Gambian counterparts as well as collaborate in the effective response to Covid-19.

“Covid-19 has overwhelmed us as a population; infection numbers are surging beyond our expectations and within a short period of time. Hence, I turned to my brother, President Macky Sall, to tap from Senegal’s experience in managing the pandemic,” President Barrow said.

Dr Busso said the visit will enable them to collaborate more on case management, large scale testing and access to emergency drugs.
