Police are facing pressure to release political activist Neneh Gomez who was arrested on Friday.

Gomez was detained after attempting to enter a Bijolo property that is under litigation at the high court.

The spokesman for the opposition Citizens Alliance was arrested last month for trespassing and criminal damage at the property last month.

She claimed the disputed property is owned by her organisation Home Of Medical Missions (HOMM).

This week the High Court in Banjul ruled that her arrest and detention last month was “illegal and unconstitutional” and awarded her and two of staff a D100,000 compensation.
