The High Court in Banjul will today hear the lawsuit brought by the disqualified parliamentary candidate Momodou Sabally against the Independent Election Commission (IEC).

Sabally, a UDP candidate for Busumbala Constituency, is challenging the legality of his disqualification by the election body.

Earlier this month the IEC disqualified Sabally, a former aide of ex-President Jammeh, citing the Janneh Commission report that ban him from holding public office.

He was one of several former Jammeh aides and officials who were banned by the Janneh Commission from holding public office.
