
Gambian forward Saikouba Jarju made his Turkish Süper Lig debut for Samsunspor in a thrilling 3–3 draw against Göztepe.
The former Hart FC attacker started the match and played 78 minutes, making an encouraging first appearance in one of Europe’s top-flight leagues.
Jarju showed confidence in the final third and was involved in Samsunspor’s attacking play, creating one big chance as his side fought for a point in an entertaining six-goal encounter.
Although he could not get on the scoresheet, his performance provided a promising start to his career at the Turkish top-flight level and offered a glimpse of the attacking qualities that earned him the opportunity.
The debut marks another important step in Jarju’s development as he looks to establish himself in Turkish football and continue raising the profile of Gambian players on the international stage.
