The manslaughter trial of Sainabou Mbye and her co-accused was adjourned today due to a swearing in ceremony of new judges at the high court.

The trial will resume on Tuesday December 13.

Sainabou Mbye, Cherno Mbye and Kimbly Dambelly are being tried over the death of a toddler identified as baby Muhammad.

The trio face criminal charges including manslaughter and exposing a child to danger. They denied the charges.

Last week, the presiding judge dismissed the defence ‘no case to answer’ submission.

The accused lawyers were asked to begin their defence against the allegations put forward by the state.
