The presiding judge of Sainabou Mbye and co-accused manslaughter trial has issued a stern warning to both the state and defence lawyers over coming late to court hearings.
Justice Ebrima Jaiteh said he expected all the parties to the case to attend court on time.
“I will not entertain lateness, if you know you will come, wake up as early as 5:00am,” the judge said.
The manslaughter trial resumed at the Banjul High Court today (4 October) following a break in July due to court recess.
Sainabou Mbye and her co-accused Cherno Mbye and Kimbly Dambelly.
are charged on three counts including manslaughter, child neglect and exposing a child to danger.
The counts carry substantial prison terms including life sentence. The accused pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges.
The hearing continues on Wednesday at 10:00am.
