On a rainy Saturday, Salikenni central mosque was transformed into a bustling hub of activity and enthusiasm, as residents many of whom are youths – armed with shovels and saplings – embarked on a massive tree planting exercise in the community as part of efforts in combating climate change in the country.
The atmosphere was charged with a sense of unity and purpose as the group prepared to embark on their mission to combat climate change.
With shovels hitting the ground and saplings finding their new homes, the volunteers shared stories, laughter, and knowledge, forming new connections and strengthening existing bonds.
“The Salikenni Youths Association’s dedication and passion have left an indelible mark on the fight against climate change,” the association said.
It added: “Their story serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, reminding us all that even the smallest actions can make a significant difference. Together, we can create a greener and more sustainable world for generations to come.”
