Salimatta E.T. Touray, secretary general and head of the Gambia Civil Service, has officially retired as of Friday, 11 October 2024.

Touray has held her position for several years, overseeing key government operations.

In her absence, Chief of Staff Mod K. Ceesay has been appointed to serve as interim secretary generalal until a successor is named.

In a statement from the Ministry of Information, President Adama Barrow expressed his gratitude for Touray’s exemplary leadership and significant contributions to the nation.
