The Gambia senior football team, The Scorpions, have arrived in Saudi Arabia for a seven-day training camp ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.

The Gambia Football Federation said in a statement that head coach Tom Saintfiet will announce his squad on January 9, 2024 in Banjul before leaving for Ivory Coast.

The Scorpions players will hold their first training session at the Prince Abdullah Bin Jalawi Stadium at 4pm local time.

“Saintfiet and charges will remain here until the 8th January when they will leave for Banjul and arrive there in the early hours of the 9th. They will collect the battle flag and train at the Independence Stadium the same day whereas the Belgian will also hold a press conference to announce his final squad that will represent the country at the African Cup of Nations,” the statement added.
