England were stunned by Senegal as the Three Lions fell to a 3-1 defeat in a friendly on Tuesday night, marking the first time they have lost to an African side.

Harry Kane gave his side an early lead, scoring just seven minutes into the match.

But Senegal hit back on the stroke of half-time through Ismaila Sarr, who capitalised on a defensive lapse to level the score.

After the break, the Teranga Lions continued to press and were rewarded when Habib Diarra fired them in front with a composed finish.

England thought they had drawn level late on when substitute Jude Bellingham found the net, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for a handball in the build-up.

Senegal sealed the victory in stoppage time through Chiekh Sabally, capping off a historic night for the African champions.
