Police prosecutors in Brusubi have secured the conviction of a Senegalese national, Alieu Badara, 28, at the Brusubi Magistrate Court on August 10, 2025. The case was presided over by Magistrate Isatou Jallow.

Badara was charged with three offences: housebreaking and stealing, stealing from a dwelling house under Section 252, and willful damage to property. He pleaded guilty to all charges.

The court sentenced him to six years imprisonment for housebreaking and stealing, four years for stealing, and two years for willful damage to property. He was also ordered to pay compensation of D300,000, with a further two years in prison in default of payment.

All sentences are to run concurrently.

The Gambia Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, and to safeguarding lives and property.
