Sibanor United debunked coach Yahya Manneh’s claimed that they are not willing for Francis Gomez to represent the Baby Scorpions in the CAF U-17 Africa Cup Of Nations tournament to be held in Morocco.
Sibanor United denied receiving any formal or informal request from the Gambia Football Federation for the wunderkind to be part of the U-17 squad.
“It is disheartening to hear the account of the Coach on consulting Francis’s parent club (Sibanor Umted) regarding his availability. This is a lame and unfounded statement. We at Sibanor United were making efforts for the club to release him for the U-17 at our own accord without anyone’s request either formally or informally.
“We are also not aware of any request to his new Club. Therefore, the Coach statement that he contacted Francis’s parent club who are in line with AC Horsens stance is misleading and an allegation on Sibanor United,” a club statement said.
