Gambian singer Nancy Nanz has announced quitting music for Islam saying she wants to spend more time practicing her faith. 

Nanz, whose real name is Mammy Waggeh, took to her TikTok account to share the news with her fans and followers. 

“Many people asked me this question, ‘why do you stop the music’. I will answer this question today? I am the one who stop doing music, music did not leave me,” she said in the video. 

“I have observed by myself that when someone came into this world, he or she is welcomed by Qur’an.

“The same thing applies when someone dies. I have never seen music accompanying someone. 

“Therefore, music is a worldly thing that’s why I stop doing music.”
