South Africa has sent Morocco out of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament after beating them 2-0 in Abidjan.

Bafana Bafana outplayed Morocco in tonight’s encounter scoring two impressive goals to progress to the quarterfinals.

Evidence Makgopa produced a neat finish to score the opener in the 57th minute, surviving a lengthy Video Assistant Referee (VAR) check for offside and putting Bafana Bafana on their way to a surprise victory over the 2022 World Cup semi-finalists.

Morocco failed to level the scores after Hakimi failed to convert a penalty in the last half of the match.

South Africa double the score through Mokoena who took advantage of a free-kick after he was fouled by Amrabat who shown a red card for violent conduct.

Morocco had finished top in their group stage with seven points while South Africa finished as third-best in their group stage.
