Ousainou Bojang, the suspect in the fatal shooting of two police officers, has appeared before magistrate Jabang at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The suspect who wore a black t-shirt and jeans was brought into court in handcuffs surrounded by police officers. 

He is facing murder and attempted murder charges over the shooting of three police officers on duty at Sukuta-Jabang Traffic light. 

Two officers were killed on the spot and a third officer was seriously injured. 

Bojang, who had a one million dalasi bounty on his head, was arrested in Casamance after a nationwide manhunt. 

The deadly shooting has raised concerns about security issues including the safety of police officers while on duty.
