The Team Gambia Grand Coalition 2026 says it would review the management of The Gambia’s strategic national assets and concessions if it assumes power after the December 2026 presidential election.
Veteran politician Halifa Sallah, speaking on behalf of the coalition, said a proposed committee on economic and social affairs would examine how national resources and strategic assets are managed.
He specifically mentioned concessions involving minerals, marine resources, ports and other sovereign assets, including Gamtel.
Mr Sallah said the coalition’s objective would be to determine how the country’s wealth could better serve the needs and aspirations of Gambians.
The proposed review forms part of a wider programme the coalition says it intends to pursue, covering economic management, social affairs, justice, reconciliation, voter education and government planning.
On justice and human rights, Mr Sallah said the coalition would establish a committee to examine past violations and their consequences, seek redress for victims and develop safeguards against future abuses.
He said the coalition had also listened to concerns from the Victims’ Center, including complaints from victims who believe their experiences have become politicised.
Mr Sallah said Team Gambia would formally apologise for injustices committed since independence as part of what he described as an effort to give the country “a new start.”

The coalition also plans to establish a committee on voter education and reconciliation, which Mr Sallah said would promote understanding of citizens’ power through the ballot and the principle of equality.
He said the coalition’s agreement would be made public so citizens could examine its commitments and judge its performance.
Mr Sallah said the coalition was continuing to organise its internal structures ahead of the next phase of its political activities.
He said the coalition planned to determine its flag bearer between October 17 and 30, with the process intended to focus on building a cohesive team rather than competition over positions.
The coalition has presented itself as seeking a political system in which government exists for the people and national resources are managed in the wider public interest.
