The Brikama Sports Committee has officially concluded its elections, with Team Power emerging as the dominant force across all executive positions, securing a near-clean sweep of the polls. The People’s Camp and independent candidates failed to win any executive seat, except for one position.

In the presidential race, Demba Sonko Bojang of Team Power was elected President after securing 43 votes, defeating Lamin Njie alias Kiang of The People’s Camp, who obtained 22 votes.

The vice presidency went to Jerreh Manneh (Team Power) with 44 votes against 18 for Falaye Nyassi (The People’s Camp), while Modou Lamin Nyassi (Team Power) was elected Second Vice President with 48 votes, ahead of Ousman Janko (The People’s Camp), who managed 11 votes.

At the administrative level, Landing Sanneh (Team Power) was elected Secretary General with 48 votes against 12 for Bakary Njie (The People’s Camp). Hamadi Janko (Team Power) secured the Assistant Secretary General position unopposed, while Momodou A. Jallow, who has experience across both camps, was also elected unopposed as Legal Officer.

In the finance and audit section, Sanjally Choi (Team Power) won the Treasurer position with 37 votes, defeating Fansu Dumbuya (The People’s Camp), who polled 19 votes. Ebrima Bojang alias Dida (Team Power) and Batou Bojang (Team Power) were both elected unopposed as Auditor and Audit Clerk respectively.

For operational roles, Malick Gai (Team Power) was elected Development Officer with 34 votes, while Omar Baba Sowe (The People’s Camp) secured 10 votes. In the Grassroots race, Omar B. Cham (Team Power) won with 23 votes in a three-way contest, defeating Ebrima Sonko (Independent) and Lamin Fatty (The People’s Camp).

Security duties will be handled by Muhammed Darboe (Team Power) after he secured 35 votes against 9 for Foday Conteh (The People’s Camp).

In the social and media departments, Pa Baboucarr Barrow (Team Power) won the Social Secretary role with 51 votes, while Ebrima Sillah (The People’s Camp) was elected Assistant Social Secretary (the only position won by the People’s Camp). Musa Jatta (Team Power) became IPRO with 25 votes, defeating Sheikh Sidat Kujabi (The People’s Camp), who secured 16 votes.

Sports discipline positions also saw Team Power dominance, with Sheikh Maline Manka (Basketball Officer), Tijan Sanyang (Volleyball Officer), and Lamin Fadera alias Sang (Athletics Officer) all elected unopposed.

In the female representation category, Alimatou Bojang (Team Power) won with 34 votes against 13 for Anna Nyassi (The People’s Camp).

Additionally, Agie Jallow and Sainey Manneh, both members of Team Power, have been co-opted as Executive Members of the Brikama Sports Committee.
