Ten men from Kololi Tavan have been convicted of common nuisance after admitting to terrorising their community through drug abuse, robberies, and attacks on schoolchildren.

They were arrested by the Kotu Anti-Crime Unit and appeared before the Kanifing Magistrates Court on Friday, 15 August, where they all pleaded guilty to charges of causing danger and public annoyance.

Those convicted are Dawda Ceesay, Omar Touray, Mustapha Corr, Muhammed Awe, Ebrima Secka, Muhammed Jarju, Lamin Suwareh, Katim Gaye, Muhammed Mboob, and Nfamara Manneh.

The case has been adjourned to 21 August 2025 at 12:30 pm for sentencing.

An eleventh accused, Ebrima Krubally, pleaded not guilty. His case was also adjourned to the same date for hearing.

Police have reassured residents of Kololi Tavan that operations will continue to crack down on crime, stressing that public safety remains a top priority.
