Emotions ran high between Senegalese and Guinean journalists during a pre-match press conference on Monday.

The row started when a Senegalese journalist asked a question about remarks made earlier in the week by Guinean footballer Aguibou Camara who lambasted Gambia’s performance in their 1-0 defeat.

Some Guinean journalists took exception to the question and scolded the Senegalese journalist saying that it was the wrong forum.

There was a heated exchange afterwards between journalists from both countries but no reports of physical altercations.

The match between the two nations has already been billed as a derby.

Senegal topped Group C with six points followed by Guinea with four points.

Both team are looking to top the group when they clash on Tuesday at the Stade Charles Konan Bady in Yamassoukro.
