The Gambia has witnessed a dark Friday as three people were killed in separate incidents, prompting the police to launch investigation into their deaths.
In Wellingara, Nyakassi Jawneh, a 60-year-old woman, was found death in her bed. Police forensic officers have opened an investigation, and her body has been taken to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
In Sinchu Malado, Haddy Boye, 21, has been arrested over the death of her 40-year-old husband Karamo Jobe.
“As part of the investigation, Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) visited the scene, reconstructed the events, and recovered the alleged murder weapon, a knife,” Police said.
Meanwhile, in Dippa Kunda, 18-year-old Fatoumata Bintou Jallow has been taken into custody following the death of 21-year-old Abdou Rahman Jallow.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
