Police in Serekunda have arrested three Nigerian nationals in connection with an alleged scam involving more than D2 million.

The suspects, identified as Stanley Edward, 35, and Fidelis Ibe, 41, both residents of Kololi, along with David Chiagozie, 47, of Brusubi, were arrested on Tuesday following what police described as credible intelligence.

According to the police, officers recovered D2,272,000 during the operation.

The three men have since been charged with theft as investigations continue.

The Gambia Police Force said it remains committed to tackling crime and protecting the public from fraudulent activities.
