The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has dismissed three police officers with immediate effect after they were found guilty of gross misconduct during internal disciplinary proceedings.

The officers—Police Constable Alieu G. Camara, Police Constable Buba Touray and Police Constable Ismaila Bah—were removed from the Force following separate incidents of misconduct.

According to the GPF, one of the cases involved PC Alieu G. Camara, whose actions towards a shopkeeper were captured in a video that circulated widely on social media.

The Force said all three officers were formally charged and appeared before an Orderly Room hearing, where they each pleaded guilty to the charges against them. Their guilty pleas resulted in their immediate dismissal.

The GPF said the dismissals reflect its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct and reaffirm its commitment to professionalism, discipline and accountability.

“The Gambia Police Force remains steadfast in upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and accountability,” the statement said.

The Force also assured the public that any officer found to have breached the law, regulations or ethical standards governing the service would be held accountable through established disciplinary procedures.
