Omar Saidykhan, president of TMT Academy football club, has donated 1 million dalasis to his team footballers and staff for winning the second division league.

TMT Academy thrashed Hart FC by 4-1 at KG5 mini stadium in Banjul as their close-challengers – BST Galaxy drew their game in Bakau.

“One million dalasi [donated] as a token of gratitude and appreciation to the players and staffs

“Our club president gives the team a cheque of a million dalasis. TMT is here to stay. Thank you Mr President,” TMT Academy club said in a statement.

The team which has been promoted to the division league recently incurred the wrath of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) after an official made a comment deemed to be inappropriate about the state of the country’s football.

He called GFF officials “hustlers masquerading as football authorities”.

The GFF following a disciplinary hearing fined and deducted 10 points from the team which was later reduced to 3 points.
