TMT FC boosted their hopes of retaining their Gambia Football Federation First Division status after securing a comfortable 2-0 victory over Sibanor United in the Division One Promotion/Relegation Playoff semifinal.
After a goalless first half, Yankuba Ceesay broke the deadlock two minutes after the restart, giving TMT FC a deserved lead in the 47th minute.
The First Division side doubled their advantage seven minutes later when Kalifa Sanneh calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, putting the result beyond doubt.
The victory sends TMT FC into the playoff final, where they will face the winner of the other semifinal between Baalor Sarr FC and Elite United.
A win in the final will secure TMT FC’s place in the GFF First Division for another season, while defeat would see them relinquish their top-flight status.
