Three people have died in Tallinding Buffer Zone in the early hours of Friday after a truck with a Guinea Bissau number plate collided with a minivan. 

According to eyewitnesses the truck which was carrying food and other provisions from The Gambia lost control and fell on van.

The truck was believed to be overloaded with goods. 

The police and the Fire and Rescue Services were at the scene immediately after the accident. They helped to evacuate the wounded and the dead to hospital.

Eyewitness said: “Our roads had become deathtraps. When will road traffic accidents be minimise? How is a country where there are traffic laws, allow overloaded trucks and lorry to ply our roads? 

“More than 20 lives are lost so far, on our roads in less than two months in the following accidents at Faraba, Foni Bajagarr, Munyagen in Nuimi and many more in the GBA.”
