Viewers were left stunned after Information Minister, Dr Ismaila Ceesay, sensationally stormed out of a live broadcast on Brikama-based Menbekereng TV.

He had been invited to defend President Adama Barrow’s latest cabinet reshuffle, and to explain why Auditor General Modou Ceesay turned down a ministerial post he had allegedly accepted initially.

But the interview descended into chaos when host Pa Modou Bojang opened the phone lines for the public to call in.

Dr Ceesay snapped, warning the presenter not to let viewers on air.

“I cannot wait for the telephone lines to be opened,” he fumed, insisting he hadn’t come to listen to the public.

Bojang pressed him, asking: “So, you are running away from the people’s voice?”

That was the breaking point. The minister grabbed his phones from the desk and dramatically walked out, leaving the audience in shock.

A furious Bojang hit back on-air: “you cannot come here, make empty statements, and expect no one to scold you for them.”

The explosive showdown has since set social media ablaze, with many questioning the minister’s temperament and commitment to public accountability.
