Two men have been arrested in Foni Dobong for allegedly beheading several vultures, amid growing concern over a spate of killings of vultures.
Local residents arrested and handed them to the police. Their arrest follows mass killings of vultures in Gunjur and Brufut.

Authorities have launched an investigation in an effort to apprehend those behind the heinous acts.
In a video shared by What’s On Gambia, the two young men are seen seated on a plastic chair, explaining their motives behind the beheadings.
While denying using the vultures’ heads for spiritual purposes, one of the suspects said they were instructed to provide the heads for medicinal use.
Confessing to the crime, he appealed to members of the community to forgive them and allow them to leave.
“We agree that what we did was wrong by coming here to kill these vultures. But we beg you to forgive us. We should have come to seek your permission,” he said.
He added:“Yes, there are some who exhume human heads, but we will never do that, because we too will die one day.”
