At least two players from the Somali U-17 national team have reportedly absconded in Morocco ahead of their second Group C match against The Gambia on Friday (7 April), in El Jadida.

Although sources close to the Somali team have hesitated to confirm this news, our reporter on the ground has reliably learned that efforts are ongoing to locate these players, reports the Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia. 

“We will be monitoring the situation and will be updating ahead of the game tomorrow,” said the association.
