Karafa Sonko, newly elected campaign manager of the opposition United Democratic Party, has said president Adama Barrow betrayed Gambians by appointing “Jammeh enablers like Fabakary Tombong Jatta and Seedy Njie” in his government.
Mr Sonko recently replaced Momodou Sabally as UDP campaign manager after he defected to the ruling party.
He said: “Adama Barrow betrayed the country because he failed the country. He didn’t implement the reforms and rejected the draft constitution. And he appoints people who destroyed the country, people like Fabakary Tombong Jatta and Seedy Njie who imposed a state of emergency and said they didn’t recognize Barrow as democratically elected president.
“These are the people who made Jammeh fail. Where are those people like Fatoumatta Jahumpa Ceesay who stood and said Jammeh can rule for millions of years are the people who abandoned him and joined someone else.”
