UDP deputy leader Aji Yam Secka has renewed her attack on President Adama Barrow saying he lacked confidence.

Mrs Secka, who was addressing a UDP rally in Njaba Kunda, Badibu, said Mr Barrow lacked “courage” to lead as she recounted the day the former UDP presidential flag bearer was asked to address a political rally in Bundung after he was selected to lead the party in the 2016 presidential election.

“When Adama Barrow was speaking, he was trembling. When he finished speaking, he said to me ‘Aunty Yam, how was my speech?’

“I told him ‘I grade you 10 because you didn’t say anything’. I told him ‘you’re speaking and trembling and it’s you we are choosing to lead [us]’.

She added: “Adama had no courage. And that’s why when he said he’s bold, I laugh. It’s us who gave you courage.”

Mr Barrow was selected to lead the party after the leader Ousainou Darboe and his executive were arrested by the Jammeh regime for staging an unauthorised protest following the death in detention of Solo Sandeng.

He had a falling out with the party after the election and the former allies have become bitter foes.

Mrs Secka said the UDP leader Ousainou Darboe will win the December 4 presidential election.
