The United Democratic Party has kicked off a global fundraising campaign aimed at boosting its war chest ahead of the 2026 presidential election.

Dubbed the “30 for 30 Campaign”, the initiative marks the party’s 30th anniversary, and is designed to rally supporters at home and abroad to financially back its next political battle.

The campaign, launched on April 8, will run until August 30, with the party urging loyalists to donate 30 units of their local currency, whether it’s 30 dalasis, $30 or €30.

All funds raised, the party says, will go directly into preparations for the crucial 2026 vote.

Diaspora fundraising chairman Momodou B. Krubally described the drive as both symbolic and urgent.

“This campaign reflects our 30-year struggle and is about mobilising support for what lies ahead,” he said.

The launch is set to be broadcast live across social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube, as the party looks to energise its base globally.

Fundraising coordinators across The Gambia, Europe and the United States have been tasked with driving contributions and assisting supporters.
