
Ambassador Sharon L. Cromer has concluded her tenure as the United States Ambassador to The Gambia.
Since arriving in Banjul on 14 March 2022, Ambassador Cromer has played a central role in strengthening ties between the two countries.
During her time in office, she focused on advancing bilateral relations, promoting people-to-people connections, and championing shared values.
Her work extended across government engagement, civil society, regional authorities, and local communities.
Ambassador Cromer was also a strong advocate for the empowerment of Gambian women, girls, and artists.
In a statement marking her departure, officials expressed gratitude for her leadership and vision, praising her dedication to fostering diplomacy and mutual understanding.
Ambassador Cromer leaves behind a legacy of collaboration and service, as the United States and The Gambia continue to build on the foundations laid during her tenure.
