The U.S. Government announces a $310,000 donation to The Gambia’s coronavirus response. The donation is part of the US aid support to The Gambia.

The U.S. Embassy in Banjul said in a statement on Facebook:

“The U.S. Government, through USAID, committed $310,000 to assist The Gambia in its efforts to slow the COVID-19 outbreak and promote citizen accountability in executing the local response.

“This assistance builds on long term U.S. Government support to the Smiling Coast, which totals approximately $3 million this year.”

The Gambia has so far recorded 23 cases of the virus since its emergence in the country in March with 13 active cases currently receiving medical care, 9 recovered and 1 death.
